Warriors Comeback Attempt Falls Just Short

The East Central Warriors were host to their first conference home game versus the Pearl River Wildcats. The Wildcats came into tonight’s match with a 15-2 record. The Warriors battled hard early but could not overcome the Wildcats offensive attack.

Basketball: Newton takes down Lake, Scott Central

The Newton basketball teams had a good week on the hardwoods.

The Lady Tigers used a rugged defense to take a pair of wins, beating Lake 41-23 and Scott Central 47-29.

The Tigers also grabbed two wins last week, beating Lake 81-55 and Scott Central 52-46.

Basketball: NCA girls down rival Sylva Bay

The Newton County Academy girls finished out the regular season this week with a dominant win over their rivals.

The Lady Generals beat rival Sylva Bay 63-32 but lost 61-41 to Benton.

The Generals lost both games, falling 43-17 to Sylva Bay and 62-51 to Benton.
