BASKETBALL: Sebastopol teams win 5 of 6 games

The Sebastopol Lady Bobcats won three games last week while the Bobcats picked up two wins.

The Lady Bobcats beat Pisgah 38-37 in a tight contest and then followed that up with a 52-36 win over Puckett and a 50-24 win over French Camp.

Basketball: NCA girls get big win over 5A Park Place

The Lady Generals used a balanced scoring attack as they look a 52-37 win over Class 5A Park Place Academy on Monday.

Basketball: Union girls take down defending champs Lake

The Union Lady Yellowjackets picked up three wins this past week, including a one over the two-time defending Class 2A champions.

Union opened the week with a 46-34 win over West Lauderdale and then beat Lake 49-42 on Thursday. They finished the week with an easy 59-26 win over Clarkdale.

Basketball: NCHS wins thriller

King’s game-winner lifts Cougars past Quitman

Newton County boys basketball coach Stephen Wade has had some close calls against Quitman but all of them ended up in losses.

That was until Friday night when the Cougars got a last-minute three-point play from Dasan King to take a 54-51 win over the Panthers.
