Union High School Cheer: Yellowjacket Squad Places Seventh in Nationals

The Union High School Cheerleading Team finished in seventh place in the 2025 UCA High School Cheerleading National Championships on Monday. The Yellowjacket squad, making their first appearance in Orlando, Florida, competed against 78 other high school squads in the nationals held at Disney World.

The legislation now heads to the Senate for consideration where the Education Committee chairman failed to bring a similar bill forward in the chamber last week.

The Mississippi House of Representatives bucked the lobbyists and passed what is referred to as the “Tim Tebow” Act on Tuesday by a vote of 76-26.

Basketball: Sebastopol Girls Earn No. 2 Playoff Seed

The Sebastopol Lady Bobcats finished the regular season strong in Division 4-2A with a pair of wins.

The Lady Bobcats took a big 58-49 overtime win over Union and then hammered Eupora 46-18.

The Bobcats lost both games as they fell 43-42 to Union and 55-42 to Eupora.
