Former Newton County Academy standout Kemp Alderman had another good week for the Rebels, who improved to 10-2 on the season.
Alderman was 2-for-5 with two RBIs in a 14-5 win over Nebraska on Sunday and was 1-for-3 with two runs scored on Saturday in a 9-7 win over Minnesota. On Friday, the Alderman hit a monstrous home run in a 5-1 win over Maryland.
In two midweek games against Louisiana Tech, Alderman went 1-for-4 in a 6-5 loss on Tuesday and then went 1-for-2 with a home run in a 4-3 win over Louisiana Tech on Wednesday.
Alderman is now hitting .370 on the season and leads the team with five home run and had 16 RBIs. He leads the Rebels with a .761 slugging percentage and has six walks and 11 strikeouts.
The Rebels will host Southern Miss on Tuesday before hosting Purdue in a three-game series this weekend in Oxford.
