East Webster’s Walker Johnson has finished out his high school career as well as any player could.
Walker recently participated in the Mississippi Association of Coaches Class 1A-2A D.M. Howie Crossroads All-Star game. The game was played at William Carey College in Hattiesburg.
“Walker threw the last two innings and struck out all six batters he faced,” coach and father Wes Johnson said. “He threw 24 pitches and 20 of them were strikes. He was named the game’s most valuable player. So that was very special for me and for him. It was a great way to end his high school career. He just seems to be getting better and better.”
Johnson was also named the Most Valuable Defensive Player in the Northeast Mississippi Coaches Association for Better Baseball 1A-2A All-star game. Walker Johnson finished the game with two scoreless innings and struck out four batters.
Johnson signed with East Central Community College.
