The Sebastopol Lady Bobcats split a pair of games last week on the softball diamond.
The Lady Bobcats lost 8-2 to Ethel on Monday before taking a 12-0 win over Noxapater on Friday to finish out the week.
Sebastopol is scheduled to play in the New Albany Tournament over the spring break holiday. The Lady Bobcats will play New Albany on Friday at 6 p.m. and then play Myrtle on Saturday at 9 a.m. and West Union at 11 a.m.
Ethel 8, Sebastopol 2
The Lady Tigers broke open a close game with six runs in the last three innings to take a six-run win over the Lady Bobcats on Monday.
Ethel led 2-0 after four innings before adding three in the fifth, two in the sixth and one in the seventh. Sebastopol scored one in the fifth and one in the seventh.
Sebastopol had seven hits, led by Josie Tripp who was 2-for-3 with a triple. Taylor Watkins was 2-for-3. Kaitlyn Wilson was 2-for-2 with a double.
Watkins pitched all seven innings for Sebastopol, giving up eight runs, only three earned, on nine hits and one walk while striking out six.
Sebastopol 12, Noxapater 0
The Lady Bobcats jumped out early and cruised to a run-rule win over the Lady Tigers on Friday.
Sebastopol scored five runs in the first, three in the second and four in the fourth.
The Lady Bobcats had 11 hits in the contest, led by Josie Tripp who was 2-for-3 with two doubles. Gracie Wilson was 2-for-3 with a home run and three RBIs. Abbie Wilson was 2-for-2 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Taylor Watkins had a triple and drove in a run. Madison McLemore doubled and had two RBIs.
Watkins started on the mound and pitched four innings of no-hit softball while striking out two. Neely Wolverton pitched the final inning and gave up one hit and struck out two.
