It was a rough week on the softball diamond for Newton County Academy.
The Lady Generals managed just three runs in three games as the lost 5-2 to Wayne, 10-0 to Clinton Christian and 7-1 to Simpson.
The Lady Generals will hit the road for a pair of district games this week as they go to Brookhaven on Monday and Clinton Christian on Tuesday.
Wayne 5, NCA 2
The Lady Generals scattered nine hits as Kelli Hollingsworth was 2-for-4 and Taylor Evans was 2-for-3 with a double. Gracie Humphreys was 2-for-2 and scored a run while Marla Graham had a single and scored a run. Belle Hollingsworth and Amber Garrison also had singles.
Evans gave up five runs on nine hits while striking out seven and walking one.
Clinton Christian 10, NCA 0
The Lady Generals did not have a hit in the contest.
Riley Usry got the start and got just one out as she gave up two runs on three hits an da walk. Taylor Evans pitched the last 4 2/3 innings and gave up eight runs on nine hits while striking out six.
Simpson 7, NCA 1
The Lady Generals had four hits as Abbie Mcgee was 2-for-3. Kaleigh Cosgrove singled and scored a run while Jordan Russell had a triple. Belle Hollingsworth drew two walks.
