After trailing for most of the game, the Lake Lady Hornets finally woke up against Sebastopol last week.
The Lady Hornets outscored the Lady Bobcats 10-0 in the final period and took a 32-23 win on Tuesday in their only game of the week.
The Hornets struggled from the field and dropped a 54-34 decision to the Bobcats.
Lake will return to action this week as they play in the Bay Springs Tournament on Friday, Dec. 27 against Leake County and on Saturday, Dec. 28 against Scott Central. Friday’s games versus Leake County will begin at 2 p.m. while Saturday’s games versus Scott Central will start at 1 p.m.
Lake girls 32, Sebastopol 23
The Lady Hornets shut out the Lady Bobcats in the last period to take a nine-point win on Tuesday.
Sebastopol controlled most of the game as they outscored Lake 8-6 in the first and 11-10 in the second to lead 19-16 at the half. Lake outscored Sebastopol 6-4 in the third to cut the lead to 23-22 going into the fourth. Lake then blanked Sebastopol 10-0 in the fourth to take the win.
Laurel Breland led Lake with nine points while LaNeisha Palm had seven points. D’Nara Odom had six points while Trashaylah Wilson added five points.
Sebastopol boys 54, Lake 34
The Bobcats used a big second half to pull away and take a 20-point win over the Hornets.
Sebastopol outscored Lake 11-6 in the first and 14-12 in the second to lead 25-18 at the half. Sebastopol extended the lead in the second half as they outscored Lake 15-7 in the third and 14-9 in the fourth.
Brady McGee led Lake with eight points while Devonte Rankin had five points. Zywon Ledbetter and Myles Johnson each had four points apiece.
