The Newton County Academy Lady Generals picked up two wins on the softball fields last week.
The Lady Generals shut out Hebron 11-0 and then lost two out of three games at the Brookhaven Tournament. The Lady Generals lost 12-0 to Jackson Prep and 3-0 to Adams Christian. They finished off Saturday with a 5-2 win over Prairie View.
NCA, now 7-9, will return to play on Monday as they host Columbus Christian and will then play Kemper Academy at East Mississippi in Scooba on Tuesday.
NCA 11, Hebron 0
The Lady Generals scored in four of the five innings to take a shutout win over the Lady Eagles on Tuesday.
NCA scored two in the first one in the third and fifth and seven runs in the fourth.
NCA had seven hits in the game. Mary Kate Hardy doubled, scored two runs and had two RBIs while Belle Hollingsworth and Lilly Hollingsworth each doubled. Jordan Russell and Ashlyn Mathis each scored two runs and had two RBIs while Anna Turner had two RBIs.
Lilly Hollingsworth pitched all five innings and gave up two hits and struck out eight.
Jackson Prep 12, NCA 0
The Lady Generals fell to the Lady Patriots on Saturday at the Brookhaven Tournament.
Prep scored four in the first, three in the second and five in the third.
NCA had three hits as Belle Hollingsworth was 2-for-2 while Lilly Hollingsworth also singled.
NCA 5, Prairie View 2
The Lady Generals had eight hits and took a time-limit win on Saturday.
NCA scored three in the first and two in the second to take the win.
NCA had eight hits in the contest. Anna Turner was 2-for-2 with a double and three RBIs while Belle Hollingsworth was 2-for-2. Gracie Humphreys walked twice and scored two runs. Mary Kate Hardy also doubled and drove in a run.
Jordan Russell picked up the win on the mound, pitching all three innings and giving up two runs on two hits while striking out five.
Adams Christian 3, NCA 0
The Lady Generals only had one hit as they suffered a shutout loss on Saturday at ACCS.
Adams Christian scored two in the first and one in the second.
NCA had one hit, a single by Anna Turner.
Jordan Russell took the loss on the mound.
