The Lake Hornets had a rough week on the softball diamond as the lost three out of four contests.
After a beating Newton 27-2, the Lady Hornets lost 16-0 and 16-1 to Neshoba and then dropped a 9-4 division contest to Enterprise.
Lake is schedule to host Bay Springs on a key division game on Tuesday and will travel to Pelahatchie on Thursday.
Lake 27, Newton 2
After being tied in the first inning, Lake exploded in the second inning to take a three-inning, run-rule victory.
Lake then scored 17 runs in the second and eight in the third.
Lake had 22 hits in the game and took advantage of 10 errors.
Taylor Duncan was 3-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Laurel Breland was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBIs while Reagan Clark was 2-for-3 with two doubles. Brantlee McGee was 2-for-2 with two runs scored while Josie Gibbs was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Landry LeBlanc had a triple and drove in three runs. Laneisha Palm scored four runs while Shaylah Wilson, Morgan Bounds and Kate Gladney each scored two runs apiece.
Enterprise 9, Lake 4
Enterprise built a 5-0 lead and held on to take the win.
Enterprise scored two in the first and three in the third to go up 5-0. Lake scored two in the fifth and sixth while Enterprise added one in the fifth and three in the sixth.
Lake had 11 hits in the game as Laurel Breland was 2-for-4 with an RBI. Josie Gibbs was 2-for-3 with a run scored while Reagan Clark was 2-for-3. Landry LeBlanc had a home run and drove in two runs.
Neshoba 16, Lake 0
Lake had just one hit as Neshoba took a three-inning, run-rule victory.
Neshoba scored eight in the first and third innings.
Kaytie Hilman had Lake’s only hit.

Neshoba completed the doubleheader sweep with a second three-inning win on Tuesday.
Neshoba scored six in the first, eight in the second and two in the third.
Lake had five hits in the contest. Reagan Clark singled and drove in a run. Laurel Breland, Taylor Duncan, Kaytie Hillman and Kate Gladney each had hits. Shaylah Wilson scored Lake’s run.
