The Lake Lady Hornets banged out three more wins on the softball diamond this week.
The Lady Hornets started the week with a big 19-18 win over Clarkdale and followed that up with an 8-3 over Ethel and a 23-12 win over Noxapater at the Sebastopol Tournament on Saturday.
Lake will host Newton on Monday and will host Neshoba Central on Tuesday. The Lady Hornets will then host Enterprise on Thursday to round out their week.
Lake 8, Ethel 3
The Lady Hornets scored seven of their eight runs in the first two innings and took a five-run win over Ethel in the Sebastopol Tournament.
Lake scored three in the first and four in the second and added one in the sixth.
Lake had 15 hits in the contest as Hanna Wilkerson led the way, going 2-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and five RBIs. Laurel Breland was 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Olivia Clay was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Taylor Duncan and Alana Edmonds were also 2-for-4.
Reagan Clark, Clay, Duncan and Wilkerson each had doubles in the contest.
Lake 23, Noxapater 12
Lake banged out a season-high 31 hits as they smashed Noxapater by 11 runs. Lake scored five in the first and second and added three in the third, four in the fourth and six in the fifth.
Four different Lady Hornets had four hits as Olivia Clay was 4-for-4 with three runs scored, five RBIs with a double and home run. Hanna Wilkerson was 4-for-5 with three runs scored, three RBIs with a home run. Jordan McLemore had her best day of the season, going 4-for-4 with three runs scored while Kaytie Hillman was 4-for-4 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Laurel Breland was 3-for-3 with three doubles, three runs scored while Taylor Duncan was 3-for-5. Landry LeBlanc was 3-for-3 with a home run and four RBIs while Kate Gladney was 2-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs. Reagan Clark was also 2-for-3 with a double while Josie Gibbs drove in two runs in her only at bat.
Lake 19, Clarkdale 18
The Lady Hornets held off a scrappy Clarkdale team to take a one-run victory on Monday in a key division contest.
Lake led 4-3 after two innings and exploded for six runs in the top of the third to go ahead 10-4 after three innings. But Clarkdale answered with its own six-run inning in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at 10-10. Lake then answered with two in the fifth and five in the sixth to pull ahead 17-10. Clarkdale fought back with six runs in the bottom of the sixth to pull within 17-16. Both teams scored two runs in the seventh as Lake held on for the win.
Lake had 21 hits in the contest and hit seven home runs.
Hanna Wilkerson had another big day at the plate, going 3-for-4 with four runs scored, three home runs and three RBIs. Landry LeBlanc also had a big night, going 3-for-5 with three RBIs, two home runs and a double. Taylor Duncan was 3-for-5 with three RBIs with a home run. Kaytie Hillman was 3-for-4 with two doubles and drove in a game-high five runs while Jordan McLemore was also 3-for-4. Kate Gladney drove in two runs while Tashyiah Wilson scored two runs.
