The Lake Lady Hornets got busy this past week, winning four of five contests including three division contests.
Lake hammered Pelahatchie 22-2 and 18-3 in a doubleheader on Tuesday and blasted Stringer 16-3 on Thursday. On Saturday, Lake had a walk-off 7-6 win against Meridian before losing 11-1 to Wayne County.
Lake, now 11-5 on the season, is scheduled to go to Clarkdale on Monday for a key division contest and will participate in the Sebastopol Tournament on Saturday where they will face Ethel and Noxapater.
Lake 22, Pelahatchie 2
Lake banged out 22 hits and crushed Pelahatchie by 20 runs in the first game of a doubleheader on Tuesday.
Lake had 10 runs in the first, seven in the second and three in the fifth.
Hanna Wilkerson was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and two runs scored while Kaytie Hillman was 3-for-3 with two runs scored and two RBIs.
Taylor Duncan was 2-for-3 with three runs scored while Olivia Clay was also 2-for-3 with three runs scored and two RBIs. Landry LeBlanc was 2-for-3 with two runs scored while Reagan Clark was also 2-for-3. Kate Gladney scored three times while Jordan McLemore also scored twice. Clay, Hillman and Wilkerson each had doubles for Lake.
Reagan Clark pitched three innings and gave up two runs on seven hits and one walk.
Lake 18, Pelahatchie 3
In the second game of the doubleheader, Lake had 25 hits and run ruled Pelahatchie in five innings.
Lake had a big seven-run second and six-run fifth in the game.
Eight Lady Hornets had multiple hits as Laurel Breland was 3-for-4 with a double, three runs scored and two RBIs. Reagan Clark was also 3-for-4 with two runs scored while Kaytie Hillman was 3-for-4 with two runs scored. Olivia Clay continued her hot hitting as she was also 3-for-4 with two RBIs. Taylor Duncan was 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Landry LeBlanc was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Alana Edmonds was 2-for-4 with two runs scored while Jordan McLemore was also 2-for-4.
Lake 16, Stringer 3
The Lady Hornets scored in every inning in a four-inning blowout win on Thursday.
Lake scored three in the first and second innings and five in the third and fourth innings.
Lake had 15 hits in the contest as Laurel Breland was 3-for-3 with two runs scored. Hanna Wilkerson was 2-for-2 with two doubles, two runs and four RBIs while Olivia Clay was also 2-for-2 with three runs scored and three RBIs. Taylor Duncan was 2-for-3 with three runs scored. Duncan and Breland each had a double and a triple.
Jordan McLemore was 2-for-3 with three RBIs while Kaytie Hillman was 2-for-3 with a double and two runs scored.
Lake 7, Meridian 6
Alana Edmonds drove in two runs with a single in the seventh inning as the Lady Hornets came from behind to beat Class 6A Meridian on Saturday at the Enterprise Tournament.
Lake had 13 hits in the contest as Hanna Wilkerson was 3-for-4 with a home run, two runs scored and two RBIs. Olivia Clay and Taylor Duncan were also 2-for-4 with two runs scored. Edmonds was 2-for-4 and drove in two runs. Clay also had a double.
Wayne County 11, Lake 1
The Lady Hornets only had two hits in a run-rule loss to Wayne County in their second game of the day on Saturday at Enterprise.
Wayne jumped out to a 9-0 lead with three in the first and six in the second.
Hanna Wilkerson had a solo home run for Lake and Landry LeBlanc had Lake’s other hit.
