The Newton County Academy tennis team is getting warmed up for another run at a Class AA state championship.
The Generals won two matches last week as they beat Enterprise 8-1 on Monday and then dominated Brookhaven Academy 7-2 on Thursday.
NCA will travel to East Rankin on Monday and then host Leake Academy and Sylva Bay on Thursday, starting at 4 p.m.
NCA 7, Brookhaven 2
The Generals took a solid win over district foe Brookhaven on Thursday at East Central.
NCA dominated on the girls side, winning all four points. In singles, Tori Evans won 6-3, 1-6, 10-7 in a three-set match at the No. 1 spot while Piper Rose won 6-2, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot. In girls doubles, Anna Moore and Marla Graham won 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 1 spot while Belle and Lilly Hollingsworth won 7-5, 6-4 at the No. 2 spot.
On the boys side, Micah Douglas won 6-2, 6-3 at No. 1 singles while Patrick Williams was forced to withdraw, giving Brookhaven the point. In boys doubles, Luke Alexander and Ethan McDill won 6-1, 6-1 at the No. 1 spot while Jordan Mason and Eli Finnegan won 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.
NCA 8, Enterprise 1
The Generals took an easy win over Enterprise on Monday.
In girls singles, Tori Evans took a 6-3, 6-2 win at No. 1 singles while Piper Rose won 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot. In girls doubles, Anna Moore and Marla Graham won 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 1 spot while Belle Hollingsworth and Lilly Hollingsworth won 6-2, 6-4.

Enterprise won its only point in mixed doubles as Tripp Blasingame and Anna Turner lost 6-4, 6-4.
