Union softball coach Jacob Casey said he learned his lesson about homecoming week years ago.
Whatever games you play, play them on Monday and Tuesday and get them out of the way.
That strategy worked well for Casey this time as the Lady Jackets bested Lake 10-4 and hammered Noxapater 15-0 in a division contest. The Lady Jackets then played Leake County on Tuesday in a division doubleheader and won 20-0 and 18-0. Casey said he played his junior varsity players in that game and did not keep stats.
