Swimming: NCHS Swim Team Brings Home Record Number of Medals

The Mississippi High School Activities Association (MHSAA) State Championships for Swimming took place this past weekend at the Tupelo Aquatic Center. Over three hundred of the best swimmers in Mississippi competed for medals and team points in front of hundreds of spectators.

Class 2A Volleyball State Championship: Lady Hornets fall to Walnut in 2A title match

For the second straight year, the Lake volleyball team finished as Class 2A runners-up.

This year, Lake lost 3-1 to Walnut in the Class 2A championship game at Mississippi College.

Lake coach Jacob Casey said his squad ran into a really good team in Walnut.

Class4A Volleyball State Championship: New Albany uses momentum in fifth set to defeat the NCHS Lady Cougars in title match

Newton County’s volleyball season came down to a 15-point fifth set for the Class 4A state championship.

But in a game of runs and momentum, New Albany took a 9-1 lead in that fifth set and used that momentum to win the fifth set 15-5 and claim the Class 4A state championship on Thursday at Mississippi College.
