The Newton County Swim Team wrapped up its regular season with a string of impressive performances in three consecutive meets held in Vicksburg and Laurel. For the fifth consecutive year, the team has secured a spot in the North State Championships, which will take place on October 5 in Cleveland.
Despite having no seniors on the roster, the team achieved a remarkable feat by qualifying 86% of its members for the North State Championships, the highest percentage of any team in Mississippi. Additionally, three of the swimmers have already posted college-qualifying times, a testament to their dedication and skill. Even with limited training facilities, Newton County is expected to perform well at the upcoming competition.
