During Red Ribbon Week, Newton County Middle and High School students were invited to participate in the Student Council’s Red Ribbon Week Challenge. Each day of the week, the Student Council advisers posted a Red Ribbon Week-related trivia question via Google Classroom at a random time during the school day. The first student to respond with the correct answer won the gift card. The Red Ribbon Week theme for this year was “Be kind to your mind. Be drug-free.” Day One winners included Seventh Grader Scott Bassett, the winner of a $10 Subway gift card, and Senior Kaylee Avant, the winner of a $10 Top Shelf Nutrition gift certificate.
