DECATUR: Town delays alcohol ordinance

The Decatur Board of Mayor and Aldermen will wait to see the outcome of the July 6 special election, in which voters will decide whether they want to legalize the sale of beer, wine and liquor, before they pass an ordinance to regulate the sale and advertising of alcohol.

The Hwy. 15 Yard Sale brought thousands of people to yard sales and vendor stops from Newton to Ackerman last weekend.

Timothy Bozeman, business owner and one of the founders of the yard sale event, said they appreciate all of the support during this sale.

Veterans cemetery holds Memorial Day service

Central District Transportation Commissioner Willie Simmons was the keynote speaker for the event.
