Terry C. Burton, a former Mayor of Newton and longtime senator that served District 31 for nearly three decades, was honored with a retirement reception at the historic McElroy-Hoye House in Newton on Sunday.
Hundreds of people were there to celebrate the legacy of Burton. Many of his accomplishments were recognized during the event.
