The Mississippi Department of Employment Security recently released July’s unemployment that showed Newton County staying put at 4.6 percent for the second month in a row, halting a two month rise that began back in May.
The July rate is three-tenths of a point lower than the rate from July 2022, which came in at 4.9 percent.
