The Newton Tigers opened the Jeffrey Crosby era on Friday night at Lanier.
It wasn’t the opening game that Crosby had hoped for as Class 4A Lanier took a 54-6 win over the Tigers.
Newton falls to 0-1 on the season and has now lost 13 straight games, dating back to the 2022 season.
