Baseball: Bobcats split with Pelahatchie, Scott Central

Softball: Union goes 1-2 in opening week

The Union Lady Yellowjackets got the season kicked off this week with a trio of games.

Union was shutout in a pair of games, losing to 5A power Neshoba Central on Tuesday and Florence on Saturday. Union got its first win on Thursday versus SE Lauderdale.

Softball: County drops tough game to Enterprise to spoil perfect week

The Newton County softball team suffered its first loss of the season last week but bounced back with two run-rule wins.

County lost to Enterprise on Thursday but then hammered Southeast Lauderdale on Friday. County finished the week with a win over Lake on Saturday.

Baseball: Yellowjackets get 2 of 3 games

The Union baseball team won two out of three games last week, including a sweep of Scott Central.

Union took two games from Scott Central, winning 9-7 on Tuesday and 14-4 on Friday. The Yellowjackets then lost 18-2 on Saturday.

Union will play at Lake on Friday before beginning division play the next week at Eupora on Tuesday.
