High School Football: Bobcats struggle in 38-0 loss to Clarkdale

The best that Sebastopol football coach Keith Brown could say after Friday night was “it was just one of those nights.”

The Bobcats struggled from the beginning as Clarkdale rolled to a 38-0 win to stay unbeaten on the season.

Sebastopol falls to 1-3 on the season and will host Pelahatchie this week.

Southeast Lauderdale used a 90-yard interception return in the fourth quarter to take an 8-0 win over Newton.

Newton falls to 1-3 on the season and will play at Leake County on Friday night.

High School Football: Generals roll up 403 yard of offense in 42-20 win over Central Homes

Before the season, Newton County Academy football coach Stevie Nelson said his offense would be a two-headed monster featuring Cooper Savell and Taylor Burt.

Savell had another big night with 211 yards rushing and three TD's and also had a pick six on defense to lead the Generals to a 42-20 win over Central Holmes.

The Union Yellowjacket defense swarms a Knights ball carrier. The Yellowjacket defense was led by Aidan Davis, who had seven tackles, a sack, and a forced fumble, and Deandre Kincaid, who also had seven tackles and a fumble recovery.

High School Football: Undefeated Yellowjackets take control of second half to defeat W. Lauderdale 28-14

Union has had some big wins under coach Jordan Wren and Friday night’s against West Lauderdale is one of the biggest.

The Yellowjackets scored 14 unanswered points in the second half and took a 28-14 win over the Knights.

Union improved to 4-0 on the season and will make the short trip to Lake to take on the Hornets.
