Union’s Ethan Brasher came away with the Region 6-3A boys singles championship last week.
Brasher had a tough opening-round match as he beat Forest 4-6, 6-2, 6-0 and then advanced to the finals where he beat Clarkdale 6-2, 7-5. Brasher now advances to the Class 3A state tournament that will be played in Oxford.
In other action, Jude Feasel and Hunter Sullivan won their first-round match against Clarkdale, winning 2-6, 6-1, 6-1. Feasel and Sullivan then lost in the second round to Enterprise.
Union tennis coach Jodi Williams said no other team made it to the second round.

The Yellowjackets took a convincing win over the Gators last week.
In singles, Ethan Brasher won 6-1, 7-5 on the boys side while Kinsley Johnson won 6-0, 6-0 on the girls side.
In girls doubles, Denver McCoy and Julia Harrison won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot while Sarah Chandlee and Reagan Sullivan won 6-0, 6-1 at the No. 2 spots.
In boys doubles, Jude Feasel and Hunter Sullivan won 6-2, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot while David Brandon and Jes Henry lost 6-2, 6-3 at the No. 2 spots.
In mixed doubles, Jackson Johnson and Rylee Pullin won 6-2, 6-0.
