The Union tennis team has gotten off to a strong start to the season, winning three out of four matches.
All three of Union’s wins have been shutouts with 7-0 victories over Sebastopol, Northeast Lauderdale and Forest. Union lost 4-3 to Class 6A Neshoba Central
Union 7, Sebastopol 0
In singles, Cory Smith won 6-1, 6-0 on the boys side while Denver McCoy won 6-1, 6-4 on the girls side.
In girls doubles, Julia Harrison and Rylee Pullin won 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 1 spot while Cecilia Burroughs and Annley Howell won 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2 spots.
In boys doubles, Jude Feasel and Jackson Johnson won 6-4, 7-5 at the No. 1 spot while Cooper Capps and Hunter Sullivan won 6-0, 6-0 at the No. 2 spot.
In mixed doubles, Ethan Brasher and Kinsley Johnson also won 6-0, 6-0 to sweep the matches.
Neshoba Central 4, Union 3
In singles, Neshoba dominated the action as Cory Smith lost 6-1, 6-1 while Denver McCoy lost 6-0, 6-0 on the girls side.
In doubles, Julia Harrison and Rylee Pullin won 6-3, 6-4 at the No. 1 spot while Annley Howell and Ava smith lost 6-2, 6-2 at the No. 2 spot.
