Homeless vet laid to rest in state cemetery

A small gathering of veterans, American Legion members and honor guard bikers met Thursday at the Mississippi Veterans Memorial Cemetery to honor the life of Willie Leroy Polite.

Polite, a U.S. Army veteran who served in Vietnam and later became homeless, was laid to rest in the Veterans Memorial Cemetery after a short service.
