Union’s slow-pitch softball season came to an end on Tuesday as the Lady Yellowjackets were swept in two games by homesteading Bogue Chitto.
Union lost game 1 of the series 10-0 and fell 7-3 in the second game.
Bogue Chitto 10, Union 0
The Lady Bobcats scored seven runs in the second inning and took a five-inning, run-rule win over the Lady Yellowjackets soon Tuesday in the first game of the series.
Bogue Chitto finished off the scoring with three in the fourth.
The Lady Bobcats outhit Union 10-1. Union’s only hit was a single by Tiara Campbell.
Bogue Chitto 7, Union 3
The Lady Bobcats pulled away with three runs in the top of the seventh to take the series for the Lady Yellowjackets on Tuesday.
Bogue Chitto scored one in the fifth and three in the sixth and seventh innings. Union scored three in the bottom of the sixth to cut the lead to 4-3.
Bogue Chitto outhit Union 14-5 in the contest. Tiara Campbell had a two-run home run for Union while Anna Grace Blount and DD Hunter each singled and scored. Kenley Pullin and Hannah Tate also singled for Union.
