The City of Union is pleased to announce the appointment of Alderman Vince McElhenney to the Mississippi Municipal League (MML) Health Committee for the 2025-2026 term.
The MML Health Committee plays a key role in evaluating and promoting strategies to improve healthcare access for municipalities across the state. For the upcoming term, the committee will place particular emphasis on mental health needs and the development of support resources for communities throughout Mississippi, including smaller and underserved areas.
Established in 1931, the Mississippi Municipal League is a non-partisan organization representing 290 municipalities of varying sizes. Guided by its mission of “helping cities and towns excel”, the League also works in partnership with the National League of Cities to advocate for the interests of Mississippi municipalities on both state and national levels.
Alderman McElhenney brings more than two decades of professional healthcare experience to the committee. He has served as a nurse at East Mississippi State Hospital for the past 21 years, providing him with a strong foundation to support the committee’s work and priorities.
