The Union basketball teams continued to struggle in district play as they both dropped a pair of games last week.
The Union girls lost 40-31 to St. Andrew’s and 51-18 to Southeast Lauderdale.
The Union boys lost 71-44 to St. Andrew’s and 67-39 to Southeast Lauderdale.
St. Andrew’s boys 71, Union 44
The Saints dominated the first half and rolled to a 27-point win.
St. Andrew’s outscored Union 28-7 in the first period and 18-12 in the second to lead 46-19 at the half. The Saints continued to extend its lead as they outscored Union 17-9 to lead 63-28 going to the fourth. Union took the fourth period 16-8 for the final margin.
Kyhson Patrick led Union with 12 points while Quinn Harris had 10 points.
St. Andrew’s girls 40, Union 31
The Lady Saints outscored the Lady Yellowjackets in three of the four periods and took a nine-point win.
St. Andrew’s led 6-5 at the end of the first and each team scored eight points in the second period to lead 14-13 at the half. St. Andrew’s then outscored Union 14-12 in the third and 12-6 in the fourth to pull away and take the win.
Jasmine Pickens led Union with nine points while Elle Killen had eight points. Daltrey Roland had seven points while Aliviah Easterling added six points.
SE Lauderdale boys 67, Union 39
The Tigers outscored the Yellowjackets in every period as they rolled to a 28-point win.
Southeast led 22-8 at the end of the first period and outscored Union 17-12 in the second to lead 39-20 at the half. Southeast continued to extend the lead as they outscored Union 28-19 in the second half to take the win.
Quinn Harris and Kysen Patrick led Union with 10 points apiece while Chanze Harmon and Riddick Killen each had five points.
SE Lauderdale girls 51, Union 18
The Lady Tigers outscored the Lady Yellowjackets in every period and rolled to a 33-point win.
Southeast led 11-0 at the end of the first and 19-7 at the half. Southeast then outscored Union 13-8 in the third and 19-3 in the fourth.
Elle Killen led Union with eight points while Daltrey Roland had four points.
