The Union basketball teams continued to struggle in district play as both squads lost a pair of games last week.
The Union girls lost 46-32 to St. Andrews and 62-40 to Pisgah while the Union boys lost 52-37 to Pisgah and 64-13 to St. Andrews.
Union is scheduled to host Southeast Lauderdale on Tuesday and then play at Quitman on Friday.
Pisgah boys 52, Union 37
The Dragons jumped out to an early lead and cruised to a 15-point win.
Pisgah led 17-5 at the end of the first period and outscored Union 16-10 in the second to lead 33-15 at the half. Union fought back and outscored Pisgah 15-8 in the third to cut the lead to 41-30 going to the fourth. But Pisgah took the fourth period 11-7 for the final margin.
Koby Hutchins led Union with 14 points while Tanner Watkins had seven points. Jayden Gusman also had six points.
Pisgah girls 62, Union 40
The Lady Dragons dominated early and rolled to a 22-point win over the Lady Yellowjackets.
Pisgah outscored Union 18-9 in the first and 21-8 in the second to lead 39-17 at the half. Pisgah extended that lead in the third, outscoring Union 13-6 to lead 52-23. Union took the fourth period 17-10 for the final margin.
Elle Killen led Union with 13 points while Daltry Roland had 10 points.
St. Andrews boys 64, Union 13
The Yellowjackets struggled from the field as the Saints ran away with a 51-point win.
Dominic Gibson and Chanze Harmon each had four points apiece for Union.
St. Andrews girls 46, Union 32
The Lady Saints started fast and finished strong to take a 14-point win.
St. Andrew’s jumped out to an 18-1 lead in the first period while Union took the second period 12-10 to cut the lead to 28-13 at the half. Union then outscored St. Andrew’s 16-6 in third to cut the lead to 34-29. But St. Andrew’s finished by outscoring Union 12-3 to take the win.
Daltry Roland led Union with 16 points while Elle Killen had six points.
