The hot, August Saturday we all remember and love is coming back this Saturday. Yes, Union’s Country Day is coming back, and the whole town is buzzing with excitement. People have been working hard to make this year’s Country Day one to remember.
This year’s Country Day will consist of a 5k run/walk, live entertainment, political speakers, shopping, food, a kid’s zone, and a car show. Also, Country Day will have a country guy and gal pageant on August 22, and a country day talent show on August 24.
On the night of August 26, live music by Bryce Richardson, Daniel Horne, and Jax Moore will begin at 6:30 in downtown Union.
The Union High School band will also be performing downtown at 8:45 Saturday morning. Now, let me tell you about some of my favorite Country Day memories I have from when I was a little girl. I always loved riding the ponies. I always bugged my mom until she took me to the ponies to ride.
I also have always done the talent show, and I will do it again this year! I also used to love shopping with my mom, brother, and cousins all down Main Street. I have also always loved the car show. I love antique vehicles, and I always walk around and go see them.
This year I am so excited to have an antique truck of my very own in the car show! I am sure I will still love doing all of these things at Country Day, and trust me, if I was still small enough to ride the ponies, I definitely would. So, if you intend on going to Country Day, I hope you have a fabulous time, and I hope you make memories to last a lifetime. As for me, you can find me singing in the talent show Thursday night, performing with the band Saturday morning, and hanging out at the car show. I hope to see you there!
