It is beginning to heat up outside, which means doing things in the warm sunshine. I hate cold weather, so Spring is one of my favorite times of the year. I want to share some fun new things you and your families can try this Spring. When I was little, my mother and I used to sit on the tailgate of a truck and have picnics. We had so much fun, and it is one of my favorite memories. Maybe you could try that with your family. Another great activity is hanging up a bird feeder or a hummingbird feeder. I love watching the birds come and go to the feeder. When it gets to be time for hummingbirds, they will be at the feeder all the time! It is really great to watch them! Some fun activities for your kids would be doing things like climbing trees, playing in the rain, and going into creeks and such. Those memories of playing outside and doing things like making mud pies are so sweet. My favorite activity is planting flowers. I love planting flowers. You can put them in hanging baskets, in raised flower beds, or you can make your own new flower bed. My favorite flowers are sunflowers and roses. Now, it is almost too late in the year to plant rose bushes, but you can get knockout roses and plant those. Normal rose bushes might not stay, but I’ll give it a try! It is just the right time to plant sunflowers. I actually have a bag of seeds that I need to plant. I hope this has given you some ideas of fun things you can do as the weather heats up. Also, the Union High School powerlifting team has just won the 2A state championship! Way to go! They also set many new 2A records! Go, Jackets, go!
