With graduation now less than a month away, seniors are forced to make plans and decisions regarding the rest of their lives. Kamani Townsend, plans to go directly to the workforce after his time at UHS. He intends to work out of state in the oil field industry. During his time at Union, Kamani has played basketball for 6 years, proudly following in both of his sister’s footsteps. He also plans to travel. He even describes his favorite high school memory: watching his sisters play in the MHSAA Girls Basketball Championship twice. He also loves the pizza from the UHS cafeteria. He doesn't regret anything, fully understanding that he did everything that he wanted to do while in high school. However, Kamani believes that if anything could have been done differently, he would have more fun playing around. With a funny demeanor, Kamani alludes to the most difficult part of high school being, “getting there on time. Like, come on, 7:50? That's too early.” Kamani believes that all of his teachers have made an impact on his high school education; although, he most connected with Mrs. Cook. Not only did he build connections, but he built a stronger level of maturity, allowing him to advise younger students to take ninth grade to figure out themselves. As Kamani Townsend reflects on his high school career, he looks forward to what the future holds. Good luck, Kamani.
