The school year has been going for about a month, so I thought it was time to give everyone an update about what has been going on with your Union Yellowjackets. I would like to do articles like this periodically, and I will try to create a system for them. Since I am at Mississippi State now, articles regarding the Union Public School District may not be as frequent, but I will definitely still do them. The Lady Jackets volleyball team has won their 100th win for the program. The volleyball program at Union is still pretty young, so for these girls to be on their 100th win is amazing! UHS’s homecoming will be on September 27th, and the parade and block party will be on September 23rd. Freshman maids are: Braylee Graham and Aspen Lovern; sophomore maids are: Marquesha Davis and Elle Killen; junior maids are: Rylee Pullin and Makenlee Yeager; and the senior maids are: Cecilia Burroughs, Tiara Campbell, and Gracyn Tillman. The UHS class of 2025 had their college application day on September 5th, and they submitted 164 applications to various colleges and universities. This is a great way for students to learn how to apply for things with someone giving them help. The UHS student council also had their elections recently. The student body secretary is Denver McCoy. The student body vice president is Camrion Campbell. The student body president is Cecilia Burroughs. Student’s first progress reports will go out this Thursday September 12th. The UHS football team is having a little bit of a rough start to their season, but I know that they will turn it around. I am so excited to see what the pride of Union band has been working up for us, and I can not wait to see how well the UHS cheerleaders are coming along with their competition routine. I love watching Jackets being Jackets! Congratulations to all of these students. I hope you all have a fantastic year! Go, Jackets, go!
