By this writing I am announcing my entry into the political arena for Candidate for Mayor of The City of Union.
I was born and raised in Union, graduating from Union High School and furthering my education with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Forestry from Mississippi State University. Upon MSU graduation, I married the former Margaret Cole of Dixon.
Over the next 19 years we lived and worked in East Central Alabama, West Central Georgia and the Meridian area where I worked in the pulp and paper business. Margaret and I chose to return to Union in 1990 to raise our family and educate our children in the Union School System. Margaret was subsequently hired into the aforesaid system where she taught for the next 25 years. She and I chose to return to Union because of the school system and its family environment conducive to a safe environment for the children. In 1998 I entered into business for myself as a forest products provider to numerous area wood facilities. In 2000 I chose to enter the political arena for candidate Ward 2 Union where I was subsequently elected. At that capacity I have served for the last 20 years where I have become keenly aware of the workings of city government. I have seen many positive changes to our city during this time. Namely: Our Schools, Hospital, Police and Fire Protection, Churches, New Business and Business friendly environment just to name a few. It is my desire to continue to build on these attributes by encouraging new businesses and families to move into our community. I know how to operate a business and a city. With the combination of these two skills, I know that I can incorporate them into quality leadership that will continue to move Union in a positive direction. I am seeking your prayers, your vote and your support in the April 06, 2021 Primary.
