Q: What is your primary motivation for running for public office? |
| A: To continue to provide fair and impartial service to the residents of Beat 3 and Newton County as I have done for the past 23 and a half years. |
A: My primary motivation is to be a voice for the residents of Newton County so that we can be proactive at the local level through listening to District 3 residents to prevent issues from becoming obstacles to the success of Newton County. |
A: I believe that our representatives should be the servants of the people. Most of them seem to have forgotten this and decided that they are our leaders. I want to put we the people back as the true leaders of our nation. |

| A: Better roads, bridges and to seek additional funding to provide more funds for the operation of all county government. |
A: Opening communication lines with residents and business owners to help build better roads, improve existing conditions and address the litter and trash concerns within the district will be my main goals. Communication is the key to addressing all issues. |
A: I would like to keep our infrastructure maintained. It is more cost effective than waiting until it is broken to fix. We need to be responsible with our citizens’ hard-earned money and use it wisely. I would also like to help fix the problems with our ambulance service in our county and find better ways to fund our fire services. |

| A: My experience of 23 and a half years of service to Newton County as a supervisor and a self-employed businessman for 23 years. |
A: Owning my own business, being on the Decatur Volunteer Fire Department for 27 years and working as an Electrical Instructor for ECCC has taught me how to listen, learn and how important communication skills are and that working with others and for others much can be accomplished. |
A: I believe that with my work experience as a patrol officer, detective, police administrator, EMS first responder/ambulance driver, volunteer fire services, MS Army National Guard and even a general laborer, have prepared and equipped me to be a servant of the citizens of our county in order to assist in providing solutions to our county’s problems. |

| A: To manage the budget of Beat 3 and Newton County and still provide quality services to the residents of Newton County. |
A: Road conditions, including litter, seems to be the main issue that is being faced in our district. Working with residents and for residents will be of utmost importance. |
A: Our representatives need to be responsible with our hard-earned tax dollars. We never need to be frivolous or take lightly the fact that this is the people’s money. If we are responsible in our spending and management of the people’s money, I believe we can make the needed changes in our county. |
| Q: What role to you see the office you are seeking playing in the lives of Newton County residents? If elected, how would you fulfill that role to provide the best possible service? |

| A: One of the duties of a supervisor is to maintain a balanced budget for all county offices. This has been done, and if elected, I will continue to ensure that Newton County government operates within the budget while still providing quality services to the citizens of Beat 3, as well as all citizens of Newton County. |
A: As the voice of residents for district 3, I will have an open-door policy for residents to contact me with the issues they are facing. I am looking at effective solutions for the litter problem, improving existing roads, supporting our local emergency services and the issues of roads that are not paved in our district, while being financially responsible with the taxpayers’ money while representing district 3. Working for and with the residents of district 3, I believe the issues that are known can and will be resolved, and proactive solutions will be in place for those that can and will arise because of effective communication as the voters will have a voice with me as their Supervisor of District 3, Newton County. As supervisor, I will have many ways available for residents to contact me for their concerns, such as a Facebook page, email or through a phone call or text message. If any resident of Newton County District 3 would like to contact me now to discuss issues, they are more than welcome to do so at 601-938-5779. |
A: The supervisors in a county wear many hats. The one thing brought up repeatedly is the roadways being properly maintained to create a safe traveling experience for the people in the county. They also manage the collective budget for the county. If we can use the budget responsibly, I believe we can better maintain our infrastructure, keep competitive pay and benefits for the county employees and maybe even cut back on the amount of tax burden placed on our residents. |
