Virgie Ann Harris Lindley, aged 76, of Hero Community in Jasper County, MS, passed away on Sunday, April 6, 2025, at the Ochsner Rush Specialty Hospital in Meridian, MS. Born on December 23, 1948, in Newton, Mississippi, she was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and friend.
Virgie was a graduate of Hickory High School and continued her education at East Central Community College, where she obtained her associate degree. She dedicated 38 years of her career as the Human Resource Manager for Esco in Newton, MS.
She was a member of New Fellowship Baptist Church in Jasper County, MS, and enjoyed hobbies such as hunting, fishing, painting, sewing, traveling, cooking, and most of all, spending time with her loving family.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 59 years, Wayne Lindley; her daughter, Cindy Ayllon and son-in-law, Cecil; her grandchildren, Lindsey Ayllon Griffin and husband Tommy, Ceily Ayllon Ratcliff and husband Tim, and Trevor Ayllon and wife Lyndsey, as well as her great-grandchildren Lindley Griffin, Tyson Griffin, and Kohen Ratcliff. She is also survived by her brothers, Wayne Harris and wife Susie, and Ronnie Harris and wife Donna.
Virgie was preceded in death by her parents, William Earl Harris and Annie Weaver Harris. She will be greatly missed by all of her loving family and friends.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, April 8, 2025, from 9:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Newton County Funeral Home - South, located at 100 Old Highway 15 Loop, Newton, MS. Funeral services followed at 11:00 a.m. at the same location, with burial at New Fellowship Cemetery in Hickory, MS. Bro. Robert Rowzee officiated the services.
Pallbearers were Cecil Ayllon, Trevor Ayllon, Tommy Griffin, Tim Ratcliff, Dustin Harris, and Andre Dyess.
