Newton County picked up three more wins this past week, taking wins over Union, St. Andrew’s and Enterprise.
On Tuesday, Newton County took a 3-1 win over Union. The Lady Yellowjackets took the first set 25-20 while the Lady Cougars rebounded and won the next three sets 25-15, 25-20 and 25-20 to take the win.
On Thursday, they took a pair of 2-0 wins over St. Andrew’s and Enterprise. Against St. Andrew’s, County won 25-16 and 25-13. They beat Enterprise 25-14 and 25-10.
Newton County improved to 15-2 on the season is scheduled to return to play this week as they play at Choctaw Central on Tuesday and host the Lady Warriors on Thursday. They will travel to Jackson on Saturday as they are scheduled to play Madison-Ridgeland Academy, Northwest Rankin, Oxford and St. Andrew’s.
Lake
The Lady Hornets took two wins last week, taking a tough win over West Lauderdale and a straight-set win over Pisgah.
Against West Lauderdale on Monday, Lake won 3-1. After dropping the first set 25-19, Lake won 25-22, 26-24 and 25-22.
Against Pisgah, Lake won 3-0 in straight sets, winning 25-23, 25-21 and 25-17.
Lake improves to 11-4 on the season and is scheduled to host Stringer on Tuesday and play at St. Andrew’s on Thursday.
Newton
The Lady Tigers only got in one match last week, beating Pelahatchie 3-2 in a district match.
Pelahatchie won the first two sets 25-20 and 25-10. But Newton fought back and won the next two sets 25-22 and 25-17 and then won the tiebreaker set 15-10 to take the win.
Newton improves t0 7-1 on the season and will host Bay Springs on Tuesday and play at Pelahatchie on Thursday.
Union
The Lady Yellowjackets dropped both of their contests last week, falling to Neshoba Central and Newton County.
Union lost both contests 3-1, falling to Neshoba on Monday and Newton County on Tuesday.
Union falls to 15-8 on the season will play at Pisgah on Tuesday and host Quitman on Thursday.
Sebastopol
The Lady Bobcats got in two matches last week as they beat Pelahatchie 3-0 on Monday.. They also lost 3-0 to Ethel on Thursday.
Sebastopol moves to 4-10 on the season and will play at Nanih Waiya on Tuesday and host McAdams on Thursday.
