Newton County, Union and Lake all won their first-round playoff matches last week.

Newton County 3, Lake 0
The Lady Cougars took all three sets as they took a shutout win over the Lady Hornets to end the regular season.
The first two sets were tight as County won 25-20 and 25-21. They finished out the third set, winning 25-14.
Felisia King led Newton County with 15 kills while Adilyn Vaughn had 13 kills. Tatum Evans added eight kills. Evans also had 12 digs while Reese Thoms and Vaughn each had 11 digs. Kolbie Wansley also had 10 digs while Shae Jimmie had nine.
Newton County 3, Mendenhall 0
The Lady Cougars had no trouble in first-round playoff action as thy blanked the Lady Tigers.
County won 25-1, 25-4 and 25-6. Adilyn Vaughn had 15 kills while Felisia King had 11 and Tatum Evans had 10 kills. Evans had eight aces while Vaughn had six and Reese Thoms four.
Newton County, now 32-5, is scheduled to return to action on Tuesday as they host Greene County.
Union 3, Jefferson Davis County 0
The Lady Yellowjackets opened the Class 3A playoffs with an easy shutout win over the Lady Jaguars.
Union, now 29-11, is scheduled to host St. Patrick on Tuesday in second-round action.
Lake 3, Bay Springs 0
The Lady Yellowjackets started the defense of their South 2A title with a shutout win over the Lady Bulldogs.
Lake, now 26-8 on the season, will host East Marion in second-round action on Tuesday.
Enterprise 3, Newton 0
The Lady Tigers saw their season come to an end on Saturday with a 3-0 loss to the Lady Bulldogs.
