A major water leak in Decatur has led to a shutdown of water service across the town while repairs are underway.
As a result of the outage, Newton County Academy announced an early dismissal. East Central Community College has closed its campus for the day and postponed a baseball game. Newton County School district will be dismissing early.
According to officials, water service is projected to return around 4 p.m., though this timeline is subject to change.
