The Yellowjackets will open the Class 3A playoffs at home as they host Wesson.
The Cobras are 5-5 overall and finished 2-3 in Region 6-3A play. The have wins over Tylertown (49-48), Wilkinson County (33-6), Lumberton (40-0), Crystal Springs (28-7) and McLaurin (39-6). They have losses to Franklin County (19-13), Miss (42-33), Hazlehurst (75-21), Raleigh (67-27) and Magee (41-27).
“I now they have the same kid at quarterback that they had two years ago,” Union coach Jordan Wren said. “He is the coach’s son and is a good football player. They are going to score but I think they lack some physicality on defense. They will be sound but I think they are fairly young like we are.”
