UNION: Services for Mr. Michael Hunter Vance were held at 11 a.m., Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Lucern Congregational Methodist Church with burial in the church cemetery. Bro. Jimmy Holder, Bro. Howell Thrash, Bro. Rusty Walton, Bro. Jeff Hall and Bro. Billy Martin officiated.
Visitation was held 5:00-7:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at Milling Funeral Home of Union.
Visitation was also held 30 minutes prior to services at Lucern Congregational Methodist Church on Wednesday, March 25, 2026.

Mrs. Gail Marveggio, 88, of Forest passed away peacefully at Lackey Memorial Hospital on Sunday, March 22, 2026. Visitation was held on Wednesday, March 25 at Forest Global Methodist Church from 9:30 am - 11:00 am. A graveside service followed at Eastern Cemetery, officiated by Bro. Tim Escue.

Sue Ann Boozer Miles, age 85, of Brandon, Mississippi, passed away peacefully on February 21, 2026. Sue was born on June 21, 1940, and was raised in Pulaski, Mississippi. She was the beloved daughter of Carl David Boozer and Audrey Faye Hegwood.
She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Robert Jerry “Pete” Miles; her brother, Grady Carl Boozer; and her parents, Carl David Boozer and Audrey Faye Hegwood.

Norma Jean “Frosty” Grant Gilbert, a life-long resident of Scott and Smith Counties, Mississippi died on February 7, 2026, at the blessed age of 97. She died peacefully at Lackey Nursing Home, where she was cared for by their wonderful and dedicated staff since December 2022.
She was a retired educator, primarily in the Scott County and Forest School Systems. She loved the Lord and her family with all her heart. She was known for doting over the small children of the family and cooking huge meals when everyone gathered.

Lydia Irby Johnson, a beloved educator and cherished family member, passed away on January 20, 2026, after courageously battling cancer.
She was born on September 21, 1948, in Canton, MS. She was a devoted wife, loving mother and proud grandmother. She dedicated 20 years of her life to shaping young minds as an elementary school teacher at Black Mountain Primary School in North Carolina. She left lasting impressions on those fortunate enough to know her. She would brighten any room she walked in.

Jackie Paul Gunn, born February 14, 1975, entered eternal rest on January 12,2026. Jackie was born at Lackey Memorial Hospital in Forest, Mississippi, and spent his life rooted in the land, people, and values he loved so deeply.
He was the beloved son of Barbra Jane Brown and Houston Lee Gunn. Jackie grew up surrounded by family and carried that love with him throughout his life. He was a proud graduate of Scott Central High School, where he shined as a star football player and built lifelong friendships.

Glenda May Pettigrew, age 83, of Forest, Mississippi, passed away on January 13, 2026, at the Mississippi Care Center in Morton, Mississippi. Born September 1, 1942, in Leake County, Mississippi, to Littleton and Willie Maude Weems, Glenda was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. She was known for her faith and a deep love for her family. Glenda was a faithful member of Clifton Baptist Church. She worked as a clerk for McCarty Farms, later known as Tyson Foods, for approximately ten years.
