The Newton County Academy baseball team only got one game in last week as they dropped a run-rule decision to Russell Christian, falling 11-1 to the Warriors on Tuesday.
NCA has a full week ahead of them as they are scheduled to host Leake on Monday at 6 p.m. and then host Sylva Bay on Tuesday. On Friday, NCA is scheduled to make the return trip to Madden to take on Leake Academy.

The Generals dropped their second straight game to open the season as they fell by 10 to the Warriors on Tuesday in their only action of the week.
Russell scored two runs in the first and second inning to go up 4-0. Russell added four in the fourth and three in the fifth while NCA scored its only run in the fourth inning.
Russell outhit NCA 7-1 but the Generals committed six errors in the field.
NCA only had one hit, a single by Cooper Savell. Ty Thrash scored NCA’s only run after walking while Jax Porter had the team’s only RBI.
Logan Smith started and pitched three innings, giving up four runs on two hits and two walks while striking out five. Porter pitched 1 1/3 innings and gave up seven runs on five hits and two walks while striking out two.
