This week, I have been reminded once again that it’s a great thing to live in a small town.
Last Tuesday morning, I know we were all rocked by the terrible news that 7-year-old Mia Le was killed in a house fire. It’s the thing that all of us worry about. A fire occurring in the middle of the night, and the fear that someone might not might not get out in time.
I can’t speculate on what happened. I believe it was just a very unfortunate accident that happens. I wish I could explain it better than that, but that house fire could have happened to anyone of us.
Then after the fire happened, you started seeing all of the outpouring of support. People who knew the family started helping them out. Businesses started lending a hand. It didn’t matter how big or how small the gift was, it meant a lot to the family.
In addition to trying to rebuild, they will have to find a way to move on. You never get over losing a loved one, but you may can find ways to move forward eventually.
The generosity and love the family has been shown is so amazing. It’s another reason why I’m glad I’m here in Newton County.
