Yesterday was a big milestone for Mom.
I don’t know if I’m allowed to say the number she has reached, but let’s just say she has reached Diamond status. (You can look that one up.)
My dad reached that about a year and a half ago.
When I think about having parents like mine, I count it as a true blessing.
First of all, there are many of you that may not have any parents still living. Some lost them when they were in high school. Some never even remembered a parent due to a death at an early age. It’s a huge blessing that I’ve been able to have them still here with me.
Second, my parents have both been there to help me through some of the most difficult times of my life. Nearly two years ago, they were there to help me get through the aftermath of my wreck. They came and stayed with me in the hospital during those first few days. They opened their doors to allow me to live with them while I was recovering for the months following my release from the hospital.
Honestly, I don’t know what I’ve deserved in my life to be this blessed.
Also, my parents they brought us up to try and do the right thing no matter what. Now, I know I don’t always do that, but I strive to try and do the right thing.
One thing that my Mom always tried to teach me is to learn what my own convictions are in my life. Those convictions might not be the same for everyone, but those are the convictions I must life by.
Mom, I know it’s impossible to tell you just what you mean to me. But I want you to know that I love you. Thank you for being who you are and who God called you to be.
Happy birthday!
