Crime: 13 from county linked in bust

Around 40 individuals were arrested last week on 10 federal indictments filed in the Southern District of Mississippi charging defendants from Lauderdale, Newton, Neshoba, Scott, and Jasper counties in Mississippi, as well as Mexico, California, Texas, and Alabama.

NEWTON COUNTY ATHLETICS: McMullan, Tullos sign scholarships

Aleah McMullan and Josie Tullos have been around each other for a long time.

The two started playing tennis together since the second grade. They won a state championship together in girls doubles at the 4A state tournament in 2023. Now, the two signed scholarships on the same day.
