| What is your primary motivation in running for public office? |
My primary motivation is making District 3 and all of Newton County the best it can be. I enjoy helping and serving others. I will work to stay within the budget while seeking other avenues of funds to make changes and reach goals that have a positive impact on residents. |
| What do you hope to accomplish if elected? |
My goal is to improve District 3 and all of Newton County by working to bring economic development to the county, which will assist in keeping taxes low, making improvements to the road conditions, developing an effective communication system, and ensuring residents have adequate access to all emergency services. |
| What do you believe most qualifies you for this office? |
Being an instructor, a business owner, and a first responder provided me with extensive experience that will make me an effective supervisor. My experience includes working with the public sector; utilizing effective communication; developing, maintaining, and adhering to budgets; and participating in the state buying and bidding process. |
| From the perspective of the office you are seeking, what is the single most important issue facing your position in Newton County? |
It is hard to pick just one, as there are multiple important issues. Road conditions are a major concern; however, a priority is having timely access to emergency (ambulance) services that affect the lives of Newton County residents. Working with and for Newton County residents will be of utmost importance. |
| What role do you see the office you are seeking playing in the lives of Newton County residents? If elected, how would you fulfill that role to provide the best possible service? |
To be the voice and best serve District 3 residents, I will resign from my current position at ECCC and be your full-time supervisor. I will have an open-door policy for residents to contact me with any issues or concerns. Residents of District 3 can count on my experience, dedication, and passion to achieve Better Roads and Better Government for Newton County if I get the honor of being elected Supervisor. The decisions made by the Board of Supervisors affect all residents. Therefore, I will work with the other 4 supervisors to make Newton County the best it can be. |
