When 9-year-old Bennett Hollingsworth came home from Sunday school she explained to her mother that her class was praying for Ella Phillips, a student that attends her school who has been struggling this year with medical issues. She continued to tell her mother that she just felt in her heart that she needed to do something for her.
That’s when her mother, Gina, told her that when God is leading you to do something, you should do it. So, after thinking about it, she decided to use her love of art as a way to raise money.
She asked her mother to create a post on Facebook explaining to people that if they would send a picture of their pet, Bennett would create a digital drawing of it. After completing, people could send the donation and download the picture.
She also said that she thought $4 would be the fairest price to ask. She has created about 40 pictures for people. It takes her about an hour for each sketch, so she has been very busy.
She said it just makes her feel good to do something for somebody else.
