The Liberty Community Club had their Christmas Party at the Family Life Building in Newton. We had some wonderful entertainment from Gil Powell, Minister of Music at First Baptist Church. He did his best to teach us new Christmas songs and remember some old ones. Korby and Amy provided some lively entertainment as they passed out gifts from several businesses in Newton County that were donated. We truly appreciated their thoughtfulness in remembering the community clubs. Our other guests were Bryan and Mary Burt, Pastor and wife of Bethel Baptist Church in Newton County.
We had sixteen in attendance with 11 unable to come due to last minute changes in their schedule. Katherine Goodin had the honor of performing with her school band on that night. Larry and Minnie Gressett were unable to attend due to a death in the family. Robin Hudnall from Hickory catered our party with some delicious pork loin, potato casserole, salad, banana pudding, and more. It was delicious and we thank her for her time and hospitality.
Our next meeting is January 13th with a potluck supper at 6 pm. All are welcome to come join us for a good time with your neighbors and friends.
