Have y’all been noticing what has been happening in our nation’s capital lately? Are you like I have always been? Leaving the political activities up to the representatives and senators without worrying about any of it? People who work for a living, raising their children, don’t have time to get involved. I’m retired and have time to keep up with what is happening, as I watch YouTube on my computer while I cook and eat, wash dishes, put on makeup or whatever. Please allow me to tell you about some of the alarming things that I have seen or read about in mail I have received. We all need to pray and ask God what we need to do in order to save the freedoms that have been obtained by our forefathers and preserved by those who fought and died for them. I read that President Ronald Reagan once asked his cabinet, “If not us, who? If not now, when?”
A couple House Representatives, Andrew Clyde, of GA, and Louie Gohmert of Texas, have brought a suit against Nancy Pelosi, the House Speaker, because of metal detectors that are being used against Republican Representatives, at times bringing fines against individuals, and at other times causing them to enter too late to vote in the House. These men are claiming that the detectors are not being used in the same way against Democrats. Their explanation of what is happening is quite convincing and shocking. They have an attorney and are suing the Speaker for this blatant discrimination. This is an example of the lack of respect and even hatred by members of Congress I see exhibited on the floors of the House and Senate. Senator Ted Cruz mentioned this, and I have seen evidence of it from other Congressmen and women. Rep. Chip Roy told of how the representatives never even have debate or present amendments to bills on the floor of the House, as was the tradition in times past, in order to take care of the business of the country. Now they just must have an “up or down” vote on bills.
On another subject, U.S. Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky sent out appeals for support against the attempts of President Biden, Democrat Senator Chuck Schumer, and others who are trying to push through ratification of the UN “Small Arms Treaty.” Senator Paul explains that this would “allow foreign bureaucrats to destroy your Second Amendment freedoms.” The treaty also provides in Article V for a “National Control List,” or an International Gun Registry, “clearly designed to include detailed information on American gun owners.” There is much more to the letter I received, and much more dangerous content in the treaty, but the main thing is that the senator stated, “You and I both know gun registration is just the first step toward outright confiscation.”
By the way, I found out today that Canada has now been taken over by their Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, to the point that they will no longer have elections. They have lost their freedoms, and many are posting online concerning the sad situation. A Canadian pastor, Artur Pawlowski, from Poland, who is very familiar with these tactics, has been arrested several times for holding church services. He had originally moved to Canada from a Communist country and now says the same takeover of governments and oppression of the people is happening here in the West.
Our country’s southern border exhibits one of the most horrific of current situations. I heard Texas Republican Representative Chip Roy expounding on the floor of the House, with very few representatives in attendance, concerning the situation down there. The number of people who have come across our border illegally is approximately one million since January. Our country suffers the danger of drug cartels, sex traffickers, criminals, people carrying the virus, while the migrants themselves suffer as victims of evil people. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has signed the order for Texas to build the border wall, while other states are stepping forward to offer financial help. Some state governors are even sending people to help police the border. In the meantime, the federal government has done little to alleviate the tragic situation.
The “biggie” that I hope you have already heard about is the bill that would hand permanent control of the White House, Senate and House to the Socialists. I received mail from The Conservative Caucus, a Citizen Action project of Americans for Constitutional Liberty, concerning H.R. 1. This bill, which has already passed the House and is now in the Senate, with Chuck Schumer promising to bring it to a final vote “probably in August,” would abolish the filibuster and federalize our elections. Historically, and presently, our elections are managed by the States; however, this bill would put all election activity and rules under the control of the federal government.
H.R. 1 would make it impossible to prove the identity of the voter, would require states to allow online voter registration and Election Day registration, and would force states to send an absentee ballot to anyone who requests it, without requiring proof of identity. The bill would also promote statehood for the socialist District of Columbia as the 51st state. It would require states to allow convicted felons, including murderers, rapists and other violent criminals, to vote. It would count ballots that arrive as late as ten days after the election. There are other dangerous aspects of the bill. Fox News’ Tucker Carlson declared, “If H.R. 1 passes, all 50 states will be California!” Do call our senators and representatives to object to this bill.
In Loudoun County, Virginia, hundreds of parents are having to attend school board meetings to try to have their voices heard concerning objectionable curriculum content on critical race treatment and discriminatory treatment of students by liberal teachers and staff. The school board shut down the latest meeting and had a couple parents arrested, though there had been no violence.
There is evidence, in great horrific detail, of the sale of aborted baby parts to the United States Federal Drug Administration, which is participating in “humanized mice workshops.” (See The Federalist, April 15, 2021, “Federal Government Caught Buying ‘Fresh’ Flesh of Aborted Babies Who Could Have Survived As Preemies.”)
Kristi Noem, Governor of South Dakota, says, “The right to speak, to assemble, to worship…the right to keep and bear arms…and the right of equal protection under the law. It’s all in danger. All of it.” She urges us, “Now is a time to stand firm for what you believe in…” I want to add, if America falls, God’s Kingdom will be greatly affected. This country sends much help to the world, as evangelism as well as charitable gifts. If we allow this country to be taken over by socialists, the evils that America has also sent out into the world, such as pornography and abortion, will only be multiplied exponentially. Let us fight for America to be able to be a shining light of righteousness and truth, pulling down strongholds of darkness and evil.
